Who We Are
The Geopolitical Review is the reporting platform of the Geopolitical Research Team. Week by week we track what is moving in the world and, from Taiwan's vantage point, turn a sprawling global picture into reports that are practical and traceable to their sources.
Why We Do It
Taiwan sits in the eye of the geopolitical storm — chips, supply chains, cross-Strait relations, energy, AI. Every one of those fault lines runs straight through this island. There is no shortage of information; there is a surplus of noise. We believe Taiwan needs intelligence that stands where it stands, and still tells the truth: no endorsement of anyone's narrative, just a clear reading of the structure, and then the plainest question of all — what is best for Taiwan?
How We Work
Every topic goes through the same process. No step is skipped:
- Deep research — broad evidence gathering to establish the factual base.
- Multi-role review — red teams argue against each other (an Eastern lens and a Western lens attacking each other's blind spots), five domain experts (politics, economics, society, military, technology) check the findings against reality, and a neutral synthesizer has the last word.
- Narrative brief — conclusions written so they can actually be read and understood.
- Source verification — every number must trace to a real, checkable source, linked at the end of the report.
- Human editor sign-off — a person clears the final gate before anything is published.
Our Principles
- Truth-seeking and position-taking are separate jobs: the analysis stays unbiased; only the recommendations are framed around Taiwan's interests.
- Fact and inference are strictly distinguished. Where we are uncertain we label our confidence rather than dressing it up as a conclusion.
- Sources are traceable: real links at the end of every report. Please check our work.
- Contested questions are presented with more than one position. We refuse single-narrative reporting.
- Findings converge on three Taiwanese vantage points: the state, industry intermediaries, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
